This book is different than most baseball books because it’s not so much about the happenings on the field—although there is some of that—but more about the people that I encountered playing the game.
Some of the stories are about people who are famous. I have chapters about first hand experiences with famous players like Don Drysdale, Sparky Anderson and Tommy Lasorda, and about Dodger executives like Walter O’Malley and Buzzie Bavasi.
So that’s the primary idea of the book. . . .telling stories about the characters that I met while playing ball.
The book takes a look at the game then and now, and of course, pays homage to baseball fans.
